You work hard. You get things done. When someone calls, you answer, when opportunity knocks, you open the door. You work and work, and then work some more. You’re driven, you’re goal-oriented, you’re all of these amazing things, except with all your time spent towards everything and anything else, the most important person of all can sometimes get left behind in the process.

Far too many of us are prone to making ourselves the final priority. And usually, by the time we get to making ourselves a priority, it’s because we’re burned out, exhausted, or even physically ill. We’re all about living life to the fullest, but when we don’t get to take time for ourselves, we’re more or less getting by, often without even realizing it. At Taste Local, we believe so fully in you getting the opportunity to spend some time for you. As Loveland’s premier brunch restaurant, we’re pretty set on ideas for you to find ways to treat yourself. Take a look at some of the best ways you can invest time in indulging, and stop by our breakfast restaurant for incredibly savory and seasonal meals!

Before we begin…

There’s this idea that far too many of us maintain, which somehow associates guilt with taking time for ourselves. In the role of caretakers, parents, guardians, career-driven individuals or anything else that leads you to feel like your time is always filled (and rarely with things of your volition), it is so important to take a step back. It can be so easy for us to brush aside our wants, and even needs, for the sake of other people or commitments, but it is completely necessary to allot yourself some time. This is not only important for your well-being, but it also helps you grow more as an individual.

Take the notion that giving yourself time and energy is selfish, and bury that thought somewhere far away. If everyone else and everything else is worthy of your time, then you are of course worthy of priority. With that in mind, take a look at some excellent ways to treat yourself!

Binge on a show.

Keep in mind, all these ideas on treating yourself from our brunch restaurant are just that—a treat. This isn’t an everyday thing (because frankly, doing any of these things constantly would eventually dull the joy and luxury of it all). But sometimes, you need a respite from it all. By that we mean you need to curl up on the couch with a blanket, and spend some uninterrupted time watching a show or movie of your choice. Grab some popcorn, tune in, and let autoplay take over.

Make a mini-spa.

This might seem like an activity geared more towards a certain gender, but we can pretty much guarantee that most people enjoy being pampered, regardless of identity. Buy yourself a bath bomb, put on a face mask if you so choose, put on a relaxing playlist (some mellow jazz is always a good option), and soak it all in. Light some candles for an added effect, but either way, we know you’ll enjoy the sensation of being in no rush, and having absolutely no place to be.

As a slight upgrade that’s really popular (especially in the upcoming winter months), take a day trip to some of Colorado’s hot springs! Soak in the natural heated pools of the area, such as in Strawberry Park Hot Springs or in Glenwood Springs. This absolutely counts as a mini-spa day, and is the perfect getaway for you to enjoy.

Enjoy nature.

One of the best ways we can treat ourselves is enjoying all the nature and wilderness that Colorado has to offer. Take a drive through any one of the state’s scenic byways, take a day trip up to Estes Park, or try a new hike you’ve yet to enjoy. No matter what you decide on, the tranquility and serenity that nature can bring is enough to revive anyone.

Picture taking an hour or two for yourself—away from kids, obligations, your phone, your job—and dining at an incredible restaurant, all by yourself. No small talk, no conversation, just simply you, a cup of coffee, and a plate of our churro french toast overloading your senses on a Sunday morning. Maybe you have a book to indulge in, maybe you’re simply taking in the moment, maybe you’re taking in your surroundings, but either way, this is time solely devoted to you.

Whether you’re needing some made-from-scratch biscuits and gravy or a rosemary chicken salad sandwich on a fresh croissant, Taste Local is the brunch restaurant to make that happen. We take the time to create the freshest flavors and ingredients, and we hope you take some time to treat yourself at our Loveland breakfast spot.
